Job Description

Join a Crew that Celebrates Wins Together and has Each Other’s Backs.

We work across both the NDIS and Support at Home programs, providing clinicians with a broad and varied caseload. This allows you to develop your skills across a range of areas, including activities of daily living (ADLs), capacity building, assistive technology (AT), equipment prescription, and home modifications. You’ll have the opportunity to work with clients with diverse needs and develop practical, client-centred skills across different stages of their support journey.

We're looking for a passionate and proactive Occupational Therapist to join our growing Townsville team, delivering meaningful community-based services across the local area.

This is a unique opportunity to work remotely while being closely supported by a highly experienced Occupational Therapist who is committed to your ongoing professional development and success. As we establish our presence in the region, you'll need to be comfortable working independently from a well-equipped home office, taking initiative and building strong relationships within the local community.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives with autonomy, is organised and self-motivated and is genuinely passionate about empowering people with disability to achieve their goals and live more independently.

This is a community-based Occupational Therapist role, so you'll need to be based in the Townsville region to provide services to NDIS participants across the local community.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Conduct meaningful assessments and design impactful therapy plans in diverse environments, from participants' homes to day centres, parks, and even at the beach

  • Build enduring relationships with clients and witness the lasting impact of your work.

  • Innovate and Collaborate: Whether you're dealing with complex cases, exploring new treatment approaches, or facing professional challenges, you'll have a whole multidisciplinary team in your corner.

What makes us Better?

For starters, we're clinician-led at every level, all the way to the top, so we know what it’s like being in the trenches of care. We’ve built the kind of workplace we always wished existed. Where we don't just say we trust our clinicians – we show it. A community built by clinicians, for clinicians.

  • We Get Sh*t Done!

  • We are People People

  • Love What You Do

We're committed to helping you grow as a clinician or as a leader yourself. Our mentoring pathway isn't just about moving up; it's about developing the full spectrum of skills you need to succeed and take on new opportunities including:

  • Support and Supervision You'll be surrounded by colleagues who support you through challenges and an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Supervisor to guide you.

  • Professional Development Flexible and personalised budget of up to $2,500 per year to use as study leave, funding towards external learning and courses or a combination of both!

  • Resources The works- laptop, phone + all of our sites have therapy and assessment resources ready to grab and go.

Freedom to Work Your Way

We've created an environment where you can personalise your work style and schedule. Want to split your time between online, in-clinic and community work? We’re here to prioritise whatever makes you the best clinician you can be with:

  • Better Flex Policy Flexible hours and the opportunity to flex off when you’ve completed your client work!

  • Clear KPIs Realistic, achievable and sustainable monthly targets.

  • Better Rewards Program Earn bonus pay or extra leave, or redeem points for PD, gadgets and experiences!

  • Paid Parental Leave 8 weeks for the primary carer and 2 for the secondary carer.

  • Travel Reimbursement Work-related travel paid monthly at $1.17 per KM.

  • National Opportunities across 30+ Australian sites.

About You

We're after OT’s who get restless when they see room for improvement and aren't afraid to speak up about it. Who have a fire in their belly about participant care and treat participant goals like personal missions, not just checkboxes on a form.

The ones who have the courage to challenge ideas (yes, even ours) when participant’s interests are at stake.

If this sounds like you, we might just be right for each other.

Qualifications

  • Full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist – limited may be considered on a case by case basis
  • A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
  • An NDIS check, Working with Children Check, and Police Check (or willing to obtain)
  • The role is open to Occupational Therapists with all levels of experience

Onshore applicants seeking sponsorship will be considered.
