Encompassing both a day school and a center for educating parents and professionals, Springer is a caring, fast-paced workplace located in Cincinnati's Hyde Park neighborhood.

The Occupational Therapist supports students with learning, developmental, sensory, motor, and executive functioning needs by providing evaluation, consultation, and direct intervention services within a school setting. This position works collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to help students develop the skills necessary to access their educational environment and achieve greater independence and success both in and out of the classroom.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluate and assess students' fine motor, visual motor, graphomotor, gross motor, sensory processing, motor planning, and functional school participation skills.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and intervention goals based on evaluation results, student needs, and educational objectives.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services through individual, small-group, classroom-based, and consultative service models.
  • Maintain and communicate an organized caseload and therapy schedule.
  • Complete comprehensive evaluation reports, progress notes, service documentation, and other required records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data, outcomes, and evolving student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, intervention specialists, related service providers, and administrators to support student success.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and educational planning meetings as appropriate.
  • Partner with families to help them understand student needs, strengths, progress, and strategies for success across settings.
  • Provide consultation and recommendations regarding classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
  • Plan and implement whole-group handwriting, keyboarding, and other functional skill instruction as appropriate.
  • Support students in developing self-regulation, sensory processing, executive functioning, and independence skills needed for school participation.
  • Maintain therapy materials, assessment tools, and equipment in accordance with professional standards and organizational expectations.
  • Stay current on evidence-based occupational therapy practices, educational trends, and regulatory requirements through ongoing professional development.
  • Secure and maintain all required licenses, certifications, and credentials necessary for practice within the State of Ohio.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required.
  • Current Ohio Occupational Therapy License, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in educational, clinical, or pediatric settings preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to supporting diverse learners and fostering student growth in an educational setting.
