The 14-month full-time ( Oct 26 to Dec 27) Occupational Therapist Level 3 role located at Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Occupational Therapy service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Occupational Therapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient-centred, evidence-based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Occupational Therapy Australia.
The Senior Occupational Therapist will support the Occupational Therapy Manager in the leadership and development of the Occupational Therapy service.

Provision of effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatment
Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client-centred, continuous quality improvement work environment
A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA
Significant practical experience or Extensive Knowledge in providing Occupational Therapy Services in a Rehabilitation, Aged Care or Palliative Care setting. Experience across inpatient and outpatient/ community settings would be desirable
Experience in staff supervision
A current driver’s licence and safe driving record
Willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience in conducting home assessments and equipment prescription
Demonstrated experience in pressure care and pressure injury management.
