About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist at Engage, you’ll provide individualized, evidence-based care that helps older adults maximize independence, safety, and participation in meaningful daily activities. You’ll work with a diverse geriatric population across independent living, assisted living, dementia, and memory care settings while building meaningful relationships with patients and collaborating closely with the broader Engage team.

Your day-to-day:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess functional abilities, activities of daily living (ADLs), cognitive performance, safety awareness, and mobility needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving independence, functional mobility, self-care, and overall quality of life.
  • Provide hands-on interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, cognitive rehabilitation, balance and coordination training, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
  • Assess environmental and safety risks while implementing fall prevention strategies and functional modifications that support safe daily living.
  • Provide care across one or more assisted living communities while maintaining strong communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive strategies, home programs, energy conservation techniques, and equipment recommendations that support independence and safety.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation and monitor patient progress using EMR systems in compliance with state and facility standards.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, speech therapists, nursing staff, and support teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development through mentorship, continuing education, workshops, and clinical training opportunities.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, community staff, and colleagues to support exceptional patient outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Active state OT license in good standing (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Passion for delivering compassionate, evidence-based patient care to a geriatric population
  • Experience or interest in geriatrics, adaptive equipment, and ADL training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected with a supportive clinical team
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
