This position provides occupational therapy services upon referral or prescription of a physician according to established procedures and protocols. The occupational therapist evaluates, develops and performs treatment programs for patients with programs individualized to developmental age in a safe and timely manner.
The occupational therapist delivers care in a prompt and professional manner always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect. Works as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support departmental objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed in the State of New Jersey. BLSHCP required.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience preferred but not required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates knowledge and clinical competency with occupational therapy assessment skills, treatment implementation, and proficiency with modalities, as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
Requires standing much of the day and extensive amounts of assisting, support and lifting of patients. Requires the ability to lift greater than 50 pounds. Essential functions of this position are listed on the department specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Director of Rehab Operations.
