As a Silverchain Occupational Therapist, you will visit our elderly clients in their own homes around the Melbourne metro area, providing practical advice, services and solutions so they can maintain their independence and wellbeing.

What we’re looking for:

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Genuine interest in working in the community and with the aged population. (previous experience an advantage)
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Current, full Australian driver's license.
  • Full time permanent or part time permanent availability.

The role:

  • Support the physical, functional and cognitive abilities of our clients, with the aim of increasing mobility and reducing falls risks.  
  • Provide a wide variety of services, including ADL assessments and equipment prescriptions, home modification recommendations, and intervention services.
  • Service clients with a diverse range of health needs, including chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes and dementia.
  • Develop care plans and solutions tailored to each client’s individual needs.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
