As an Occupational Therapist on our Early Intervention team, you’ll play a critical role in helping infants and young children build foundational skills especially around feeding, oral motor development, and sensory-motor growth during the most important years of development.
This is more than a clinical role. It’s an opportunity to empower families, collaborate with a mission-driven team, and deliver evidence-based care in natural, community-based settings where children live, learn, and grow.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Meaningful, family-centered work supporting infants and toddlers during critical developmental stages
- Specialized focus on infant feeding and oral motor development
- Autonomy and flexibility in managing your caseload and daily schedule
- Strong team collaboration within a transdisciplinary early intervention model
- Mission-driven organization committed to inclusion, equity, and evidence-based practice
- Ongoing professional growth, mentorship opportunities, and continuing education
What You’ll Do
Assessment & Clinical Expertise
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, with a strong emphasis on infant feeding, oral motor skills, swallowing, positioning, and sensory-motor development.
- Evaluate the need for adaptive equipment and assistive technology to support developmental outcomes.
- Complete ongoing assessments and document progress toward IFSP goals in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Intervention & Service Delivery
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions in accordance with each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Embed feeding, sensory, and motor interventions into daily routines within natural environments such as homes and community settings.
- Address oral motor, sensory processing, and motor development needs in infants and toddlers.
- Serve as the primary provider for assigned children while collaborating with team members as needed.
Family Partnership & Coaching
- Coach and empower parents and caregivers to confidently implement feeding and developmental strategies in everyday routines.
- Provide education on safe feeding practices, nutrition, oral motor development, and sensory regulation.
- Honor family preferences, culture, and values while fostering family leadership and engagement.
Team Collaboration
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, consultations, and IFSP reviews.
- Collaborate with families, Early Intervention Specialists, and community partners to support smooth transitions (e.g., Part C to Part B or community services).
Documentation & Professional Practice
- Complete timely, accurate documentation for evaluations, progress notes, and service delivery using electronic systems.
- Maintain professional licensure and pursue continuing education, particularly related to infant feeding and early childhood development.
- Mentor contracted therapists and Early Intervention Specialists and contribute to training and professional development initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications

- Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and communicate effectively with families and professionals.
- Comfort using mobile technology and electronic documentation systems.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Three or more years of experience in early intervention or transdisciplinary team models.
- Experience with Medicaid Waiver programs, adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and specialized infant motor interventions.
