Our Earth & Environment team is supporting some of Australia’s most complex and rewarding projects across industry sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Occupational Hygiene & HazMat Consultant to join our team and deliver high-quality workplace health, safety and HAZMAT solutions

As an Occupational Hygiene & HazMat Consultant, you'll:

  • Provide advice on hazard control strategies including elimination, engineering, administrative controls and PPE.
  • Conduct workplace exposure assessments across chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
  • Conducting Asbestos and HazMat audits in commercial buildings, industrial facilities and residential properties;
    Developing asbestos monitoring and remediation strategies, issuing clearances;
    Undertake field-based occupational hygiene monitoring (e.g. air sampling, noise, dust, fibres).
  • Analyse data, interpret results and prepare clear, high-quality technical reports.
  • Support the delivery of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the WSP business.
  • Apply relevant legislation, standards and guidelines to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Contribute to proposals and client engagement activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and uphold all SHEQ requirements.

What you'll bring:

  • Ideally a degree or diploma in Applied Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline
  • Asbestos Assessor License or relevant experience to obtain
  • Demonstrated experience in occupational hygiene or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in hazard identification, exposure monitoring and risk assessment
  • Experience using air sampling equipment and interpreting results (e.g. dust, fibres, asbestos)
  • Strong technical report writing and data analysis skills
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, standards and risk management frameworks
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and client engagement skills
  • A current driver’s license and willingness to undertake field-based work
