Job Description

Shift Pattern:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 09:00 - 17:00 (flexibility to work weekends/ evenings/ to cover shifts is required)

Salary:

£32,428 - £34,642 FTE depending on experience (£19,592 - £20,930 pro-rata for 21.75 hours)

The role:

Working as part of the in-house Occupational Health Team , the Occupational Health Technician plays a vital role in delivering our Health and Wellbeing service by conducting health surveillance programmes to protect colleagues' health, safety, and wellbeing. You will collaborate closely with Occupational Health Advisors, site management and Health and Safety teams, at our Doncaster and Dearne warehousing complexes to ensure high standards, legislative and company requirements.

As an experienced Occupational Health Technician, you’ll bring your expertise in delivering a health surveillance programme that includes respiratory and audiometry surveillance as well as fitness for role assessments ( Working at Heights and Mechanical Handling Equipment) to deliver an exceptional service to NEXT colleagues

What you’ll take on:

  • Deliver health surveillance programmes in line with company and legislative requirements
  • Plan and manage health surveillance activities to meet annual targets
  • Monitor programme compliance, escalating any risks or non-compliance
  • Conduct health screening assessments and determine outcomes, including recall dates
  • Maintain accurate and secure health surveillance records in line with data protection and health & safety standards
  • Provision of data and insights
  • Calibrate medical equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in a similar role, with specific knowledge of respiratory and audiology health surveillance and fitness for role assessments
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Confidence in decision-making and the ability to escalate concerns appropriately
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive data and records
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Full, clean driving licence as you’ll be travelling between our warehousing sites
