Job Description
House of Raeford is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and confident Occupational Health Night Nurse/Certified Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced poultry processing facility. This position is responsible for providing quality medical care to employees, responding to workplace injuries and illnesses, promoting employee wellness, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety procedures.The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent clinical judgment, maintains professionalism under pressure, and can balance compassion with consistency by treating every employee firmly, fairly, and respectfully.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday plus some Saturday work
- 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Additional hours as needed to support plant operations
Qualifications
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and basic medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Assess employees and determine appropriate treatment or referral when necessary.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and employee health records.
- Coordinate medical fitness-for-duty evaluations and return-to-work documentation.
- Administer first aid according to company policies and established protocols.
- Monitor and maintain first aid supplies and medical equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, Human Resources, Safety, and management regarding employee health matters while maintaining confidentiality.
- Promote employee wellness and injury prevention initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee medical information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Occupational health, urgent care, emergency, or industrial clinic experience preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in documenting medical information accurately.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
