How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Registered Nurse – Occupational Health, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce at our manufacturing site in Painesville, OH. From delivering hands-on care to leading wellness initiatives and managing employee health programs, you’ll be at the center of creating a safe, responsive, and employee-focused medical environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide timely emergency and non-emergency medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses, partnering with plant Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) as needed.

  • Administer nursing care within the scope of practice while adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

  • Manage workers’ compensation claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely entry into external systems.

  • Conduct comprehensive employee medical testing (e.g., spirometry, audiometry, vision, labs, vitals, urinalysis, drug screening, and respirator fit testing).

  • Maintain accurate health records within Cority occupational health software, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and data integrity.

  • Safeguard employee confidentiality by managing medical information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Oversee calibration, maintenance, and readiness of all medical equipment.

  • Coordinate and administer immunization programs and employee wellness initiatives focused on prevention and education.

  • Provide health counseling and connect employees with appropriate internal and external resources.

  • Manage employee medical leaves (e.g., Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term illness), including documentation and communication of work status updates to leadership.

  • Schedule and coordinate care with physicians and advanced practice providers for physicals, return-to-work evaluations, and ongoing care.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve medical policies, procedures, and health programs.

  • Support budgeting efforts and resource planning to ensure effective and efficient medical services.

  • Build strong relationships with community healthcare agencies and partners.

  • Promote workplace wellness through initiatives such as heat illness prevention, fatigue management, and employee health education.

  • Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and their impact on employee health.

  • Ensure proper inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Minimum of five years of experience providing patient care in a clinical or occupational setting.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in phlebotomy.

  • Strong knowledge of general nursing practices, occupational health principles, and compliance standards.

  • Ability to manage confidential medical information with discretion and integrity.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in medical documentation systems and digital tools.

Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward

  • Previous experience in occupational health or emergency medicine.

  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S).

  • Current National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved spirometry training.

  • Current Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) audiometry certification.

  • Drug screen collection certification or training.

  • Experience working with Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
