Job Description

Join Viva Energy Australia on a 12-month fixed-term contract part - time role (0.5 or 0.6) as an Occupational Health Advisor and play a pivotal role in supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people. This flexible opportunity can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane

Working within our Group HSSE team, you will partner with leaders and employees to deliver fitness for work assessments, health monitoring programs, injury and illness management, rehabilitation support, and workplace health initiatives.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Accurate completion of fitness to work assessments and health monitoring and subsequent reviews
  • Support of workplace injury/illnesses treatment and the clinical assessment of employees returning from personal sick leave and workplace related injury or illness
  • Completion of drug and alcohol testing in alignment with Australian Standards and the review of the results with escalation to the Medical Review Officer (as required)
  • Compliance with clinical governance and maintaining workers medical confidentiality and privacy for employees and contractors
  • Provision of rehabilitation planning for return to work for employees based at the Geelong Refinery, and oversight of Contractor return to work at the Geelong Refinery.
  • Support of wellbeing initiatives within the business

Qualifications

  • Registered Division 1 Nurse with AHPRA – no restrictions;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Paramedic Sciences or other suitable Health Sciences.
  • Experience delivering occupational health services (including audiometric assessment and spirometry);
  • Return to work coordinator experience and injury triage and management would be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills;
  • Attention to detail when reviewing medical reports and writing clinical notes;
  • Self-motivated, organised, good time management and adaptable to quickly changing situations;
  • Excellent presentation skills & ability to communicate credibly with health professionals, employees, leaders, People and Culture and HSSE leads
