We’re currently looking for an Occasional Babysitter in San Francisco, CA 94116
A lovely family in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood is seeking an occasional babysitter for their two children, ages 10 months and 4 years, for an immediate start. Backup Care is primarily for the baby while the older child is in preschool on weekday mornings (7am–11am), with optional afternoon shifts (2pm–8pm) and occasional date nights (6pm–10pm). The family can typically provide 1–2 weeks’ notice before care is needed. Dad will usually be home during care hours. The family also has a small friendly dog in the home who will bark at new people; no pet care is required. Candidates should be comfortable carrying the baby up and down stairs, as the family lives on the third floor. Those applying do not need to be available for all of the family’s requests, but should understand there are no guaranteed hours for this position. There may be an opportunity for a more consistent schedule in the future for the right fit. The ideal candidate is calm, patient, and experienced with infants and shy children.

Responsibilities
- Bottle and solid feeding for baby
- Diaper changing for baby
- Facilitating nap times for children
- Neighborhood walks and engaging play
Requirements
- 2 years of paid professional toddler care experience
- 2 years of paid professional infant care experience
- CPR certified, or willingness to become certified
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to provide 2 childcare-related references from a professional setting
- Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening
- Comfortable with friendly dogs
- Vietnamese speaking is a plus
Compensation
This position pays $40 per hour, and the family is looking for intermittent care, as needed.
