JOB OVERVIEW

PATIENT INFORMATION

  • Patient Demographics: Adults, Neonates

  • Patient Volume/Census: 1-3 deliveries per shift, 6-8 OBED patients

  • Rounding: Rounding on postpartum, antepartum, gyn and consult patients

  • Case Mix: Obstetrics, Gynecology

FACILITY INFORMATION

  • EMR System: EPIC

  • Specialty Backup Available: MFM (telephone), Anesthesia, Community OBGYN

  • Reason for Coverage: fill OBED hospitalist schedule

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

  • Vaginal delivery

  • Cesarean section

  • VAVD

  • Repair 3rd and 4th degree laceration repair

  • Labor induction

  • TOLAC

  • Suction D+C

  • First assist GYN procedures

  • Circumcision

  • Management of medical conditions in pregnancy and complications of pregnancy

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Licenses: Active OH license or IMLC (Universal License)

  • Board: ABOG or ABOOG board certified

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Round on postpartum, antepartum, gyn, and consult patients

  • Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries

  • Manage all patients presenting to the OBED

  • Perform procedures including suction D+C, circumcision, laceration repair, etc.

  • Work in-house 12 or 24 hour shifts covering the OBED 24/7
