Job Description

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science of the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) is seeking established Obstetrics and Gynecology practices interested in practice acquisition, employment, strategic affiliation, or hospital-based delivery partnerships throughout New York City and the surrounding region.
The Department consists of more than 130 full-time and voluntary board-certified physicians providing care to the diverse communities served by Mount Sinai. As part of the Mount Sinai Health System and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, affiliated physicians and practices benefit from the resources, reputation, and professional opportunities available through one of the nation's leading academic medical centers.
With more than 6,000 deliveries annually, the Department supports a four-year residency training program, an active medical student education program through the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a comprehensive academic environment encompassing all OB/GYN subspecialties.
The Department is actively seeking established private OB/GYN practices interested in transitioning to or affiliating with the Mount Sinai faculty practice. This opportunity is designed for physicians and groups seeking to maintain their commitment to high-quality patient care while benefiting from the clinical, operational, educational, and research resources of a large integrated academic health system.
Physicians joining the faculty practice will become members of the full-time faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and will have the opportunity to continue caring for their established patient populations while participating in the academic mission of the Department.
Flexible Affiliation Models:
In addition to full practice acquisition and employment opportunities, Mount Sinai is interested in discussing a variety of affiliation models with established OB/GYN practices.
We recognize that many successful private practices wish to maintain their existing office locations, preserve their independent practice identity, and continue operating within their current business structure while gaining access to the resources and clinical advantages of a leading academic health system.
Accordingly, we welcome conversations with practices that may be interested in:
  • Delivering patients at Mount Sinai hospitals while maintaining independent office locations
  • Voluntary faculty appointments through the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
  • Clinical affiliation agreements
  • Co-management and collaborative care arrangements
  • Participation in Mount Sinai's referral and subspecialty networks
  • Selective integration of administrative, operational, and clinical support services
  • Future pathways toward employment or acquisition, if desired
These flexible arrangements allow physicians to remain focused on providing exceptional patient care while benefiting from Mount Sinai's academic environment, tertiary and quaternary care resources, extensive subspecialty support, and nationally recognized reputation for clinical excellence.
Whether a practice is seeking full integration into the Mount Sinai faculty practice, a strategic affiliation, or simply a hospital partnership for obstetrical services, we welcome the opportunity to discuss a customized relationship that meets the needs of both the physicians and their patients.
Benefits of Joining Mount Sinai:
  • Preserve and grow your established patient base within a nationally recognized health system
  • Access to Mount Sinai's extensive referral network and subspecialty support
  • Academic appointment through the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
  • Opportunities to participate in resident and medical student education
  • Access to clinical research and scholarly activities
  • Dedicated administrative, operational, billing, and practice management support
  • Integration with one of the nation's leading electronic medical record platforms
  • Comprehensive malpractice coverage
  • Competitive compensation and productivity incentive opportunities
  • Health, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, and CME benefits
  • Significant opportunities for professional growth and leadership development
We are seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Obstetrician-Gynecologists with established practices who provide compassionate, patient-centered, high-quality care and who are interested in becoming part of an integrated academic health system.
  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient satisfaction
  • Interest in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Eligibility for faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
  • Valid New York State Medical License or the ability to obtain one
Compensation:
Compensation packages are highly competitive and will be tailored based on practice size, historical productivity, collections, specialty expertise, and organizational needs. Opportunities for productivity-based incentives and additional leadership compensation may be available.
Compensation range from $300,000 to $500,000+ (not including bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits).
Salary Disclosure Information:
