Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician

Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology

Denver Health Medical Center

Denver Health Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician to join our OBGYN team. As Colorado’s safety-net hospital, Denver Health is committed to being the most trusted healthcare provider in the state by delivering compassionate, equitable, and comprehensive high-quality care. We embrace our core values of respect, belonging, transparency, and accountability to create an environment where patients and staff alike feel supported in pursuing their wellbeing.

The MFM team at Denver Health provides specialized care to pregnant patients considered moderate to high risk, supporting them from pre-conception through the post-partum period. Our physicians provide consultation to colleagues throughout the Denver Health network, including advanced practice providers such as Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners, generalist OB/GYN and Family Medicine providers.

The Department of OB/GYN is a highly collaborative environment where physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff work as cohesive team. We are committed to fostering an atmosphere where team members practice at the top of their scope, ensuring the highest quality, patient-centered care. This collaborative approach not only improves outcomes but strengthens our collective ability to meet the diverse and complex needs of our patient population.

Denver Health serves the underserved populations of the city and county of Denver, primarily caring for patients who are government-insured and medically and socially complex. With approximately 4,000 births annually, the Department delivers full-scope obstetric and gynecologic services. About half of these patients receive care in our OB/GYN clinics staffed by OB/GYN physicians and advanced practice providers (CNMs and NPs), while the remainder are served through community clinics with Family Medicine providers.

As a teaching affiliate of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Denver Health is highly invested in educating the next generation of the healthcare workforce. Faculty members in the OB/GYN Department engage regularly in teaching residents and medical students, contributing both clinically and in didactic settings. In addition, our physicians hold academic appointments through the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

The MFM Physician plays a critical role in guiding and coordinating care for moderate and high- risk patients, while also participating in the broader obstetric care at Denver Health. Responsibilities include, but are not limited:

  • Attending and precepting High-Risk and Diabetic OB Clinics
  • Reading and interpreting obstetric ultrasounds and providing consultations for abnormal findings
