OB/GYN Physicians
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Denver Health Medical Center, and the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM) are recruiting for a 0.7FTE physician in general Obstetrics and Gynecology to join our team at Denver Health Medical Center. The successful physician will provide direct patient care and attending supervision of residents and medical students on the inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynecology services, including night and weekend in house call. The successful candidate must be eligible or ABOG certified and will also have an academic appointment at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Candidate must have an active or be eligible to obtain Colorado medical license and be eligible for privileges at Denver Health Medical Center.
Denver Health delivers inclusive care to a diverse patient population of over 210,000 patients. Patients served by the OB-GYN Department speak over 23 different languages, most commonly Spanish.
The Department of OB-GYN delivers an integrated service model. Denver Health provides ~50,000 prenatal visits per year done at 11 clinic sites. The prenatal visits are performed by OB-GYN physicians, Certified Nurse-Midwives, reproductive health Nurse Practitioners, Family Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers, who work collaboratively to deliver the right care for each patient. Denver Health has a high-risk obstetrical service that accepts referrals from clinics outside our Denver Health network. There are approximately 3400 deliveries per year, which is ~1/3 of the deliveries of Denver residents.
The Gynecology Service provides 18,000 visits per year and ~1,100 surgeries per year. Denver Health offers comprehensive reproductive healthcare services involving robotic surgery, multidisciplinary teams, which include gynecologic oncology and gender affirmation services in our LGBTQ+ Center of Excellence.
Denver Health is formally affiliated with the University of Colorado, School of Medicine where all faculty have full-time academic appointments. Denver Health is an essential teaching site for the School of Medicine. OB-GYN residents do approximately 1/3 of their clinical work at Denver Health. The Department serves additional learners – family medicine residents, emergency medicine residents, medical students, nurse-midwife students, psychology interns, and nurse practitioner students.
