Job Description

The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region.

Applications are invited from highly motivated and dedicated individuals who are experienced and passionate about tackling serious organised crime and protecting vulnerable people and communities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a motivated and dedicated senior leadership team working within an ever-evolving area of policing. This role offers the chance to lead a portfolio focussed on tackling cross border Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) and online Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) as well as providing the best possible covert asset support to forces and regions. The successful applicant will play a vital leadership role in the NWROCU response to protecting vulnerable people, pursuing offenders and contributing proactively to providing an outstanding service to the communities of the North West.

The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales. The NWROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the North West region to deliver the Government’s serious and organised Crime strategy and to protect communities from harm.

The post is subject to an initial secondment of two years reviewable based on continuous funding and performance.

Further developments in NWROCU’s capabilities are anticipated in the future. Applications received for Operational roles that require mandatory Officer Safety/First Aid training must hold valid in date training or able to undertake upon application.

Successful applicants working within NWROCU will be subject to NCA Clearence, MV (Management Vetting) and SC (Security Clearance) prior to taking up post.  Once in post, the successful applicant will be required to obtain DV (Developed Vetting).
