Nutanix Solutions Architect – VMware Migration
Location: Remote with up to 25% domestic travel
Salary: Depending on experience, salary is up to $175k/year + 10% quarterly bonus + full benefits
Role Overview
We are seeking a Nutanix Solutions Architect to lead complex enterprise infrastructure modernization and migration projects. This role will serve as a Nutanix subject-matter expert, helping clients transition from VMware environments to Nutanix and OpenShift platforms.
The ideal candidate will have deep Nutanix architecture and deployment experience, a strong understanding of VMware solutions, and hands-on experience planning and executing large-scale VMware-to-Nutanix migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and deploy enterprise Nutanix solutions.
- Lead migrations from VMware environments to Nutanix, including planning, design, deployment, and post-migration validation.
- Assess existing VMware environments and develop strategies and methodologies for transitioning workloads to Nutanix.
- Provide subject-matter expertise across Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism Element, and Prism Central.
- Utilize Nutanix Move or similar migration tools to support workload migrations.
- Develop architecture designs, implementation plans, migration strategies, and technical documentation.
- Support projects involving Nutanix and Red Hat OpenShift environments.
- Provide expertise across enterprise compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, design reviews, and migration planning with enterprise clients.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and migration issues throughout implementation.
- Partner with project teams, engineers, and client stakeholders to successfully deliver large-scale infrastructure transformation projects.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience architecting and deploying Nutanix enterprise environments.
- Deep knowledge of Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism Element, and Prism Central.
- Proven experience with VMware-to-Nutanix migrations.
- Strong understanding of VMware technologies, including vSphere and ESXi.
- Experience assessing VMware environments and developing migration strategies to Nutanix.
- Experience with Nutanix Move or similar migration technologies.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Experience creating architecture designs, implementation plans, and migration documentation.
- Strong client-facing communication, consulting, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift environments.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Experience with AWS or Azure hybrid cloud environments.
- Nutanix certifications such as NCP, NCAP, or NCX.
- VMware and/or Red Hat certifications.
