Position Summary
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing operations and supervising clinical staff to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality resident care. This role provides clinical leadership, supports staff development, promotes regulatory compliance, and fosters a positive environment for residents, families, and team members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise and support nursing staff in the delivery of resident-centered care.
- Ensure nursing care is provided in accordance with physician orders, care plans, professional standards, and facility policies.
- Assist staff with resident assessments, clinical decision-making, documentation, and changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, rehabilitation, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Monitor resident care, medication administration, treatments, and clinical outcomes to maintain quality standards.
- Participate in staffing coordination, scheduling, and daily clinical operations to ensure adequate coverage.
- Support employee orientation, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action processes.
- Promote positive communication with residents, families, visitors, and staff while addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, surveys, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, complaints, and allegations as required and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain adequate supplies, equipment, and resources necessary for resident care.
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide direct nursing care as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
