This position supports the Director of Nursing, by managing RGH nursing operations within the Nursing Office including Bed Coordination, Quality, Clinical and Financial data collection, analysis, review and submission. This position oversees Nursing Office non clinical staff providing 24x7 coverage to Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manages Nursing office staffing, bed coordination staffing and 24*7 day to day operations
• Collaborate and support bed coordination to ensure appropriate patient placement at RGH
• Responsible for managing data collection, analyzing and submission for Quality, Clinical and Financial Reporting for RGH Nursing both to internal and external sources
• Identifies and presents process, financial and clinical quality improvement opportunities
• Reports routine and ad hoc utilization and clinical reports for various departments and committees. Conducts analysis of results to identify trends or outbreaks. Reports findings to members of the health team as appropriate
• Provides support to the Director of Nursing Operations with Operating and Capital Budget formulation and ongoing variance review
• Assists Nurse Managers with Planning, Sider submission and analysis
• Works Independently to provide consultative and analytical support to various committee/projects as requested
• Project Management as needed, i.e. Joint Commission Preparedness, Education Planning
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading of current literature, in-service meetings and workshops
• Performs other duties as assigned
Desired Attributes:
• Two (2) years of experience performing data analysis in a healthcare related field preferred.
• Strong background in data analysis
• Experience in a position analyzing information to solve problems, interpreting and communicating information orally and written
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with the application of continuous quality improvement concepts, such as Six Sigma
• Demonstrate ability to assist with strategic direction and achieve targets
