Nursing Program Specialist - Risk Manager

Starting Annual Salary Range: $74,298.38

Paid Bi-Weekly

Excellent retirement package and optional deferred compensation plan. Health, vision, dental, ‎disability, and other supplemental insurance are available at reasonable premium rates. Paid vacation and ‎sick leave. Nine (9) paid holidays and one (1) personal day. Tuition waiver is available for State Universities and ‎Community Colleges (up to six (6) credits per semester).‎

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have valid Florida Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience as a Risk Manager, Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant DON, or Unit Manager in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not be limited to, a Level II background screening and drug test.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Florida licensure or certification as a Risk Manager.
  • Knowledge of Florida's Workers' Compensation system, law, and procedures.

The incumbent will develop and implement the facility’s risk management program to fulfill the mission and goals of the agency while complying with state and federal laws related to safety and risk management.

  • Collect, investigate, and analyze the root causes, patterns or trends that could result in compensatory or sentinel events.
  • Implement corrective action where appropriate and maintain data concerning patient injuries, resident grievances, claims, workers’ compensation, and other risk-related data.
  • Complete and promptly report incidents as appropriate to pertinent regulatory bodies per protocol.
  • Facilitate and implement systems, policies and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of risk related information.
  • Perform risk assessments of all departments within the facility, analyze and trend risk data.
  • Identify the facility’s risk potential, identify and develop a Risk Management Plan of Action.
  • Act as consultant to department heads and section supervisors regarding risk issues.
  • Assist in completion of incidents or event reports.
  • Perform investigations and event reporting process.
  • Educate and train the leadership, staff, and business associates as to the risk management program, and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the risk management program.
  • Lead, facilitate, and advise departments in designing risk management programs within their own departments.
  • Collect, evaluate, report and maintain data concerning patient injuries, resident grievances, claims, workers’ compensation and other risk-related data.
  • Help to identify and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Participate in or facilitate committees related to risk management, safety and quality improvement and quality assurance meetings monthly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
