We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke.
Our Nursing Professional Development Specialists support the mission of Cleveland Clinic through evidence-based practice and education that equips caregivers with the most current clinical knowledge and resources. Committed to excellence in patient care, our team uses critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation to support optimal outcomes for both patients and caregivers.
This full-time position will primarily support nursing education for the Neuro service line at Main Campus, including approximately 20% unit rounding to provide direct clinical support and education to caregivers. While the role is based at Main Campus, flexibility to travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations is required to meet departmental and caregiver needs; mileage reimbursement is available. The schedule is generally day shift, though flexibility is needed to support unit-specific orientations, competencies, and educational needs for night shift caregivers.
We are seeking someone who is adaptable, collaborative, and truly passionate about teaching, mentoring, and supporting the professional growth of nurses across the organization.
A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 3:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Design, direct, implement, and evaluate educational offerings based on knowledge, skills and learning levels of nursing staff.
Identify learning needs and desires of nursing personnel.
Develop and utilize appropriate evaluation systems to determine the effectiveness of educational activities.
Consult with individuals within the Nursing Institute and Ambulatory Nursing, CCF and the community regarding professional nursing practice and roles.
Assist in the development of department specific orientation and competencies.
Assist departments in orientation of staff.
Develop and maintain a cataloging system for tracking and retrieval of all available teaching-learning resources.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
Two years of recent nursing experience with demonstrated clinical expertise to include clinical nursing experience, preceptor, BCLS or ACLS instructor
Demonstrated knowledge of education methodology such as needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design, and principles of adult learning
Presentation skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master's Degree
Master's Degree in Nursing with a non-nursing Bachelor’s Degreeis acceptable
Certification in specialty
Two years of perioperative care experience
Neuro experience
Epilepsy or ambulatory experience
