The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Completes defined scope and standards of practice. Engages in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps and collaborates with others in improving practice and healthcare outcomes. Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty, and partner for practice transitions. Supports learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care, population health, and protection of the public.
Full-time position available (40 hour), primarily weekdays. Weekends/Off shift as indicated.
The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner is responsible for the needs assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of a number of diverse educational programs and products provided to the Department of Nursing Practice and the URMC Clinical Enterprise. This position will primarily focus on the coordination, implementation and maintenance of an electronic competency management system. The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPD) will work collaboratively with members of nursing practice across multiple service lines to enhance the competency based education program, providing oversight and guidance to clinical services and centrally on the documentation of clinical competency. This position will also provide consultation to affiliate hospitals in the region and other disciplines. The NPD will also participate in other duties as assigned related to competency management, professional development, and other Learning & Development program needs. Requirements: Graduate degree in nursing/related educational field REQUIRED. Two years of relevant experience in education, program planning/teaching recommended. Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license to practice in New York State.
