
The LPN functions under the supervision and guidance of Nursing leadership or Physician. The LPN participates in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment for patients and provides clinical support and technical assistance to the professional medical and other staff. The LPN is responsible for functioning within the scope of all federal and state regulatory guidance. Individual must be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy. Position requires excellent customer service skills with patients and their families, other staff, physicians, vendors, and the public. They are to abide by and support hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements
Education: Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse License
Experience: Minimum of 1 year medical/surgical experience. (5 years medical/surgical experience preferred.)
Knowledge: Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs. Must demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk. Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
Skills: BLS and ACLS certifications. BLS required before first date of employment. ACLS required within three months of hire. PALS Certification is optional. IV Certification required before first date of employment. Intermediate computer skills required with understanding of Electronic Medical Charting (EMR).

Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory and outpatient radiology (x-ray and ultrasound) services to Union and surrounding counties. LBH also provides primary care at the Lake Butler Hospital Rural Health Clinic and provides outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy at Lake Butler Hospital Rehabilitation Center.
