This position is responsible for the implementation and utilization of information systems required for patient care initiatives for all clinical areas, including physician applications.
This position bridges the gap between clinical practice and information technology, ensuring that electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical systems support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Current RN Licensure required, BSN preferred. Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience. Nursing Informatics experience a plus. Previous experience as a clinical IT super-user or subject matter expert preferred. Alabama RN licensure. Telephone, fax, copier, PC and other related hardware and various software applications, medical equipment used in the delivery of patient care, computer and related software. Proficiency in EHR systems and clinical software applications. Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare documentation standards. Excellent communication, problem solving and project management skills. Visual and hearing acuity. Ability to assist in moving, lifting, pulling, pushing equipment with a minimum of 30 pounds. Ability to meet the attendance requirements of the job. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Manual dexterity necessary for data entry/programming and equipment set up. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
