About the Role:

Reporting tothe Associate Dean, the Nursing Clinical Coordinator supports the oversight and management of nursing clinical placements, including clinical partner relationship management, risk management, and clinical instructor support. This includes both the BScN and BNMN program. The incumbent proactivelyassistsin the management of risk and compliance related to placements, providing essential support and professional development for Clinical Nursing Instructors (CNIs), and supporting the accreditation and approval processes.

TheNursing Clinical Coordinatorwill:

  • Review and process student placement requests, accommodation needs, andout-of-townplacement submissions;

  • Advise students on clinical placement options, expectations, and program requirements;

  • Coordinate and schedule clinical placements for all nursing practicum courses;

  • Serve as a primary liaison with clinical partners, nurturing strong relationships and ensuring seamless placement coordination;

  • Maintain comprehensive tracking systems and databases for placements, clinical agencies, and Clinical Nursing Instructor (CNI) information;

  • Overseeend-to-endCNI recruitment and onboarding processes, delegating tasks to the Administrative Assistant and Academic Coordinators, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, offers, and contract preparation;

  • Monitor CNI qualifications (e.g., WHMIS, AODA,mask fittesting, public health modules,site specificrequirements) to ensuretimelycompliance with agency onboarding standards;

  • Provide the Administrative Assistant with CNI lists to support CNO registration verification each term;

  • Gather, summarize, and share clinical site evaluations for the Sr Clinical Coordinator, UGCS, and Associate Dean;

  • Manage the Nursing Clinical shared email account and ensuretimelyresponses and issue resolution;

  • Collaborate with faculty, instructors, partners, Sr ClinicalCoordinatorand the Associate Dean to troubleshoot and resolveplacement relatedconcerns;

  • Document, track, and follow up on clinical incidents, accidents, injuries, and communicable disease exposures; liaise with Risk Management, Student Health Services, theNon-academicRequirements Coordinator, and Occupational Health at placement sites;

  • Conduct detailed reviews of eligibility documentationsubmittedto the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) to confirm student readiness for licensure;

  • Assistin accreditation and approval processes related to clinical education, including CNO approval, CASN accreditation, and Brock’s IQAP review; and

  • Maintain regular communication with community clinical partners to support placement capacity and strengthen long-term relationships

KeySkills andExperience

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing(BScN)and/or equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;

  • Nursing experience, and experience in administrative or leadership role;

  • Knowledge of nursing legislation, nursing skills development, and best practices in nursing clinical education;

  • Knowledge of risk management policies and safety practices for Brock, local hospitals, and community organizations, as well as relevant legislation;

  • Knowledge of community organizations and industries where nursing practica can beleveraged;

  • Solid computer competency including Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, database, web applications, and internet search engines;

  • Promotes and embodies inclusivity and respect within the workplace and the broader community;

  • Advanced communications skills (verbal, written and interpersonal);

  • Strong supervisory skills, and ability to coach, mentor, persuade, and motivate individuals;

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build long-term relationships;

  • Creativity and problem-solving abilities to provide advice and recommendations to community partners, Clinical Instructors, and students with all aspects of the nursing practicum process;and

  • Proven ability to organize and handle a variety of projects, deadlines, and schedules simultaneously and independently

Preferred or Asset Skills:

  • Nursing education experience; and

  • Experience in risk management or occupational health.

SalaryandTotal Rewards:

  • Job GradeL, Salary Scale ($66,817 - $108,353);

  • Target Hiring Range: $70,000- $80,000*

  • Thisis a permanent position thatincludes

*The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.
