Day ShiftThe purpose of this position is to assist Mercy College in fulfilling its mission by facilitating student acquisition of the required knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for success in the student's chosen career in health sciences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides teaching, supervision and evaluation of student learning experiences.
Provides individual advisement and guidance for intellectual and professional development of students.
Develops, implements and revises course content in a limited subject area.
Serves as a mentor to new or inexperienced faculty as appropriate.
Participates in scholarly activities (e.g., grant writing, research, college projects, publications, creative teaching strategies).
Participates in and seeks out quality improvement opportunities.
Contributes to policy formation for Mercy College and/or program/course.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Master’s degree in Nursing.
Two years’ experience in academic teaching or professional experience.
Valid and current Iowa Nursing License.
Demonstrated ability in managing, leading or training others.
Demonstrated ability to utilize appropriate, varied and innovative classroom/clinical/field teaching strategies.
Demonstrated experience in project development and management.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Doctorate preferred.
