Job Title: Nursing - CFS Professional Faculty

Position Start Date: 1 December 2026

Required Degree:

MS in Nursing required. DNP may be preferred even without a MS in Nursing.

Upon hire, a Utah license as an APRN and board certification as an FNP are required.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is required.

Preference may be given for experience as an Family Nurse Practitioner or closely related field and/or experience teaching nursing at the graduate level.

Duties/Expectations:

This professional track faculty position will consist of approximately 70% teaching, 15% citizenship, and 15% scholarship. All teaching should reflect the Healer’s art, build faith in Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, be pedagogically sound, and be based on up-to-date evidence in the nursing discipline.

Students are at the center of all we do. All College of Nursing faculty are expected to contribute significantly to an education that is spiritually strengthening, intellectually enlarging, and character building leading to lifelong learning and service by mentoring students outside of class in at least one of the following areas: teaching, citizenship, and/or scholarship. This position will be expected to mentor in graduate student projects.

Teaching duties (approximately 70% of FTE) include:

  • Teach eight courses annually, including graduate-level didactic, clinical, and/or lab skills courses.
  • May teach in the graduate and/or undergraduate program depending on the needs of the college.
  • Actual workload and course assignments will vary depending on college needs.

Citizenship duties (approximately 15% of FTE) include:

  • Promote harmony and collegiality within the college.
  • Serve as a member of college councils and fulfill assignments.
  • Attend College Assembly (monthly faculty & staff meeting), devotional/forums, commencement & convocation, and other official college and university meetings.
  • Be active in professional organizations.

Scholarship duties (approximately 15% of FTE) include:

  • Engage in quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects that enhance the discipline of nursing, address “pressing problems, consequential questions, and the quality of people’s lives” (URS Policy, p. 4), and intentionally incorporate gospel methodology.
  • Mentor graduate students in graduate clinical projects.
  • Disseminate findings primarily through peer-reviewed venues, such as peer-reviewed presentations at professional conferences.
