Central Louisiana State Hospital located in Pineville, Louisiana is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our Nursing Department as a Nursing Assistant Supervisor 2 who supervises lower-level paraprofessional healthcare staff providing therapeutic and environmental care of patients on a ward during an assigned shift.
The Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1 plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to ensure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of experience in patient care; OR
Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate or graduation from an Emergency Medical Technician Program plus two years of experience in patient care; OR
Completion of an accredited registered or practical nursing program plus one year of experience in patient care.
NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.

JOB DUTIES
- Serves as lead supervisor for Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1 positions and other subordinate staff providing therapeutic and environmental care of patients on units.
- Prepares daily work schedules and assigns basic work duties to care for patients and staff.
- Ensures that appropriate assignments are made and completed.
- Monitors staff compliance with facility policies and procedures, ensuring patients receive adequate care in a safe and sanitary environment.
- Communicates progressive information regarding performance of Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1 and Nursing Assistants to administrative personnel.
- Assist in emergency situations. Performs duties of any subordinate Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1 or other subordinate staff as necessary.
- Orients/trains new Nursing Assistants to unit program and basic duties.
- Participates in the recruitment process for Nursing Assistants.
- Willingly accepts and performs additional duties and assignments necessary for the smooth operation of the hospital.

Appointment Type: Probationary, Promotion, Demotion, Detail, or Transfer.
Compensation: This position has a Special Interest Rate (SER) of $1,390.40 bi-weekly
Position is eligible for premium pay of $1.50 per hour WORKED, Longevity pay starting at $1.00 per hour WORKED, and CNA Licensed pay of $1.00 per hour WORKED
