What You'll Do

As a Nursing Assistant on our Med Surg Acute unit, you'll be an important part of the patient care team. Under the direction of nursing leadership and Registered Nurses, you'll provide hands-on support to patients while helping the unit run smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care
• Take and document vital signs
• Participate in hourly rounding
• Respond promptly to patient call lights
• Assist with meals, tray setup, feeding, and nutritional needs
• Help patients with repositioning, ambulation, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises
• Assist with physical and occupational therapy activities as directed
• Maintain patient comfort, safety, and cleanliness
• Observe patients and promptly report changes in their physical or emotional condition to the nursing team
• Accurately document patient care
• Respect patient rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient care

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of customer service experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Professional and courteous approach when working with patients, families, and staff
• Basic computer literacy
• Ability and willingness to float to other hospital units based on health system needs

Previous hospital or healthcare experience is preferred, but not required.
