The Nursing Assistant – Certified Program at River Mountain Training Center is a Washington State Board of Nursing approved training program. Students complete required classroom, skills lab, and supervised clinical hours to become eligible for the Washington State nursing assistant competency evaluation and certification as a Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC). Clinical training takes place in the NHHS assisted living setting under the direct supervision of program instructors.
Applicants must disclose whether they have ever pled guilty or no contest to, or been convicted of, a misdemeanor or fraud. Answering yes does not constitute automatic disqualification. Factors such as date of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, rehabilitation, and the position applied for will be taken into account. Falsified statements on the application, or failure to furnish requested information, are sufficient cause for dismissal from the program.
Students who successfully complete all required hours, skills competencies, and program evaluations receive documentation of program completion and are eligible to apply to the Washington State Department of Health for the nursing assistant competency evaluation. Program completion does not guarantee employment with NHHS.
