Changing Lives. ® Labor and DeliveryThe Labor and Delivery Unit (6JPP) is a 15-bed unit with a variety of labor, triage, and recovery rooms in addition to 2 operating rooms and 1 procedure room. This unit serves patients with low and high-risk pregnancies alike, providing care for those with pre-eclampsia, preterm labor, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, bleeding concerns, and fetal disease among other conditions. Both medicated and unmedicated labor is supported through a variety of techniques with obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, and family practice physicians performing deliveries. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Perform patient personal hygiene such as bathing, toileting, feeding, dressing, grooming and oral care for patientsAssist patients with bedpans, urinals and perineal cleansingTurn, position and ambulate patientsTake temperature, pulse and blood pressureEnter daily patient record charting in computerPerform simple diagnostic/therapeutic procedures (i.e., dressing changes)Clean equipment, patient bedside area and nursing unitSet up rooms for patient admissionTransport patients by bed, cart or wheelchairTransport equipment, specimens and suppliesStock and supply patient rooms and Nursing unitPerform basic CPR as requiredMaintain patient confidentiality Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: 15-2330 Monday-Friday; Holidays as assigned.

Location: John Pappajohn Pavilion (JPP)

Merit Pay Plan

Pay Differentials: Shift differentials for evening and night.
