Nursing Assistant - Progressive Care Unit
Full-Time 7p - 7a
Will be required to cover duties as a Unit Secretary and undergo cross-training.
The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Nursing License (CNA) preferred.
Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
