Job Description

A Nurse Technician is a student nurse, after at least one year of schooling in an ADN program or after three years in a BSN program, who performs duties based on completed nursing education under direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Applies the nursing process to maximize the health status of the patients of Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center, within the parameters of hospital policy and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements:

Functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse

• Student nurse, after at least one year of schooling in an ADN program or after three years in a BSN program
• Must be able to read and comprehend written materials of a complex level such as government regulations and other agency requirements written in English.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing including the ability to make effective group presentations in English.
• Must be able to comprehend and make mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and statistical applications.
• Understands and effectively uses Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems pertinent to role. Effectively uses internet resources to enhance role.
