Supervises and coordinates daily activities of the nursing staff to include responsibility to supervise operations and address nursing practice issues. Directs patient care functions including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of the patients and completes related clinical paperwork. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrate into his or her work ethic and style of management the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility. In communicating with patients, families, visitors and employees, a caring, friendly, personal and professional approach is expected. Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Details:

Nurse Supervisor, RN (Specialty Clinic)

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Supervisor, RN to lead and coordinate daily nursing operations within our specialty practice. This role is responsible for supervising clinical staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and supporting physicians in delivering exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of nursing staff
  • Oversee clinical operations and address nursing practice issues
  • Direct patient care functions, including:
    • Assessment
    • Planning
    • Implementation
    • Evaluation
  • Provide professional nursing care in alignment with established standards
  • Assist physicians with patient treatments and clinical procedures
  • Complete and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Foster a caring, friendly, and professional environment for patients, families, and staff
  • Ensure adherence to Mercy’s philosophy and values in all interactions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current CPR certification

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical and patient care expertise
  • Knowledge of medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures
  • Ability to educate patients and support self-care programs
  • Skill in performing and assisting with medical procedures
  • Calm and effective response in emergency situations
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and clinical guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Basic computer skills for clinical documentation and data entry
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and squatting
