RN, Resident Care Director (SALSA) Job Summary This position maintains responsibility for all Resident Care/ALSA functions. Responsible for the day to day operations of the Resident Care/ALSA department including oversight of staff, payroll, and supply expenditures. Coordinate, plan, implement, monitor, direct and evaluate all aspects of resident care, including supervision, support, and coaching of all ALSA (Resident Care) associates. Maintain high resident and family satisfaction, meet high expectations and ensure services are implemented by a service/customer focused staff. Manages the Resident Care/ALSA department based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Fully knowledgeable of all state and federal regulations, guidelines and reporting that is pertinent to the day to day operation the community and agency. Responsibilities:

  • Assures that the community license is posted and current.
  • Monitors and maintains compliance with all state regulations and that all company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Puts resident service first. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere and recognizes individuals’ needs and rights.
  • Respond to all resident needs and requests timely.
  • Ensures resident needs are met by coordinating and monitoring measures, restorative services, activities, and related support services allowing for respect and dignity.
  • Coordinates and oversees all nursing and assisted living services provided to residents by direct service staff.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of Resident assessments.
  • Participate in the development of all objectives, standards of care, as it pertains to nursing services and the execution of the assistance of activities of daily living for residents.
  • Maintains oversight and implementation of Resident service plans, being attentive to each resident as an individual and in accordance with state assisted living regulations.
  • Implements services during resident move-in, helps residents with orientation to the assisted living community/staff and with their overall adjustment to the assisted living community.
  • Counsels the resident/family in meeting residency standards and healthcare psychosocial needs.
  • Provides on-going wellness programs and health checks for residents. Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents.
  • Assures that all prescribed medications are taken by residents and are documented in the resident’s file according to physician orders.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Service Coordinator regarding any concerns associated with the delivery of core services, or any problems or concerns associated with the managed residential community or the assisted living services agency, summaries of which shall be provided to the governing authority in accordance with the schedule established by the governing authority in accordance with the schedule established.

Qualifications:

  • You must always be available to be on-call for emergency situations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • As an Exempt associate it is expected that you work a 40-hour work week although at times your responsibilities may require you to work additional hours as needed.
  • This position participates in the Manager on Duty rotation.
  • Education – Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Connecticut who has one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a minimum of two years’ experience in nursing, at least one of which shall be in home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home.
    • Diploma or Associate’s degree in nursing and at least four years clinical experience in nursing with the past ten years, at least one of which shall be in home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home.
  • Experience working with elders or disabled individuals as well as demonstrated supervisory and management skills.
