The Vascular APP will cover rounding 5 days a week with no call. Physicians will round on all the patient's, the APP will join the resident team and help arrange for discharges, follow-ups and discharge teaching. The APP will also coordinate with the case management, social worker teams as well as the nursing teams on the floors. This inpatient Vascular APC role will aid in taking away inpatient workload to allow the surgeons to continue forward with additional surgical cases.The Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care for patients with vascular diseases requiring surgical or medical intervention. The NP works collaboratively with vascular surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, aiming to optimize vascular health and patient outcomes.Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with arterial, venous, and lymphatic disorders.
Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies such as duplex ultrasounds, CT angiography, and vascular labs.
Collaborate with vascular surgeons in surgical planning and patient management.
Provide preoperative education and preparation including risk assessment and optimization.
Manage postoperative care including wound care, pain control, and monitoring for complications.
Monitor patients in inpatient, outpatient, and vascular lab settings.
Coordinate multidisciplinary care including vascular medicine, interventional radiology, and wound care specialists.
Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and postoperative care.
Document clinical encounters and treatment plans accurately in electronic medical records.
Participate in vascular quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.

Qualifications

Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.

Experience in vascular surgery, cardiology, or related field preferred.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.

Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.

State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)

National board certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) or ACNPC-AG), Acute Care Adult (ACNP-BC). Additional certifications require approval from a market executive leader: Family (FNP-BC) or (FNP–C), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC) or (A-GNP), Adult (ANP-C)

Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
