Job Description

The mid-level provider for Surgical Home is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing the health problems and coordinating health care for the perioperative patient in accordance with state, federal and organizational guidelines. Perioperative preparation and clinical management is conducted in collaboration with the department of anesthesia to ensure optimal outcomes post-operatively. This individual is responsible for the completeness of all medical aspects related to surgery, including but not limited to diagnostic studies, medical evaluation, physical examination, documentation in the EHR, consultations, and coordination of services such as PT/OT, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Post discharge needs, etc.

Job Specification

Minimum Education Required:

CRNP: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program OR PA: Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

Minimum Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CRNP or PAC in surgical services setting required. Office experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification Required:

CRNP requires an active RN and APRN certification and license, including prescriptive authority, in the state of Pennsylvania.

PA requires an active PA license, including prescriptive authority, as well as board certification in the state of Pennsylvania.

Skills required (if applicable): Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications or completion within 6 months of hire. Strong leadership skills, ability to communicate effectively, and commitment to organizational values. Must pass pre-employment requirements and complete credentialing process.
