
This dynamic position will join a fast paced and complex department that offers a full spectrum care to neurosurgical patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Included in the NP/PA scope are complex patients in the Neuro Critical Care Unit, the Emergency Department, the Neurosurgical inpatient unit and outpatients being evaluated for or returning post-surgery. Responsibilities include supervising a growing team of NP/PAs who manage patients across their continuum of care and assist with bedside procedures under the supervision of a physician.
The incumbent will serve as a vital partner to department leadership, surgeons, residents, allied health professionals, and the NP/PA team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation to deliver exceptional patient care. With an unwavering commitment to safety and an outstanding patient experience, this role will help shape and elevate the standard of excellence across every touchpoint of care.
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible); or master’s prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as an FNP. DEA and BLS required.
Eligible candidates can be within the current Neurologic Surgery work unit or other practices. Neurosurgery experience is preferred but not required. Procedural training will be provided after start.
The candidate should be an innovative thinker, comfortable with decision making, possess excellent communication skills and be able to share examples of their leadership experience.
