YesGeisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Nephrology team to deliver both inpatient and outpatient care on our Wilkes Barre Campus.

Job Duties:

Prior Nephrology training is not required, we will teach the successful candidate the skills needed to work collaboratively/ semi-independently with our providers. Our primary goal is to attract a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced inpatient/outpatient environment with a team-based approach. The department provides comprehensive Nephrology subspecialty services including: inpatient evaluation of acute kidney injury (AKI), critical care consultation, continuous dialysis, acute and chronic dialysis, outpatient management of kidney disease, and postoperative/long-term management of kidney transplant recipients.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist inpatient providers with new consults and inpatient follow-ups for patients with acute kidney injury and electrolyte abnormalities
  • Evaluate dialysis patients and write inpatient dialysis orders
  • Assist with inpatient charting and documentation
  • Assist providers in outpatient Nephrology clinic
