
Mayo Clinic Health System Minnesota is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Oncology practice. This position will be based in SWMN with potential for outreach care to a site within 1 hours drive time
The Minnesota Medical Oncology practice is a physician-led team of board certified Hematology and Oncology physicians working in collaboration with multiple specialties including Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of cancer care professionals focused on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of various types of cancer. Weekly tumor boards and clinical research trials are part of the practice. This position requires direct patient care and telemedicine services.
The NP/PA in collaboration with Medical Oncologists and a care team consisting of RNs, LPNs, Social Services, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, and other ancillary support staff provide clinical care to cancer patients at various stages of treatment and recovery.

Benefit-eligible employees (50-100% FTE) receive up to 7 trip days (commensurate with time away from practice as approved off the schedule by a supervisor) and an annual allotment of $4,400.

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as an ANP, FNP, ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate program. Certified (or eligible to be certified) as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA and license (or pending) as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Additional Qualifications:
Prior experience in Oncology is preferred, but we will consider new graduates.
Possess ability to work independently/autonomously and collaboratively with other health care professionals. Have extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments and possess the ability to develop appropriate plan of care, modifying as indicated. Possess effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and members of health care team. Candidate must practice patient-centered evidence-based care.
