UMass Memorial Medical Group is seeking a motivated and patient-centered Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Emergency Medicine Department. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a fast-paced, collaborative environment within the premier health system of Central Massachusetts.
About the Emergency Medicine Department
UMass Memorial Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center with a high-acuity Emergency Department offering comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population. In addition to providing care at this primary location, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) also support the Emergency Departments across our system, including Memorial, Marlboro, Clinton, Leominster EDs, and Leominster Urgent Care Center. APPs collaborate with skilled emergency medicine physicians, residents, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
Position Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department
Perform medical screenings, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate treatment plans
Perform procedures consistent with training and scope of practice
Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine physicians and multidisciplinary team members
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental education
Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
Schedule
Variable shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
National certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA, as applicable)
Eligible for Massachusetts licensure
Prior Emergency Medicine experience preferred, but new graduates with strong EM interest are encouraged to apply
Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
Must be able to work with pediatric patients
