Caring for 75,000 patients per year, the Saint Marys Hospital Emergency Department at Mayo Clinic is a regional level 1 trauma center and is also the base of operations for nationally regarded Air and Ground Transportation programs. We provide 24/7 practice coverage with shifts in acute care, triage, behavioral health, ED observation unit, etc. In the clinical practice setting the NP PA serves as an independent provider, collaborates with physicians and works with a variety of other healthcare professionals. The NP PA will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, and patient education. The NP PA will also perform a variety of procedures including laceration repair, I&D, and lumbar puncture, etc. Our practice is unique in that we have the benefits of a teaching institution with a multitude of practice supporting education as well as a variety of research opportunities. We see patients that are unique to an academic center as well as those common to community hospitals. Mayo Clinic values the skills and expertise of the NP/PA in emergency Medicine. Currently, an APP Emergency Medicine Fellowship has been started to develop further support and train APP’s in Emergency Medicine. We look forward to adding a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to our Emergency Department team practice.
Join a positive, patient-focused environment where you and the physicians become partners and mutual advisors. With supervision and management by both physicians and other NPs and PAs, you’re supported by people who understand your professional needs and goals!

Benefits Highlights

Mayo Clinic has expanded and changed in many ways, but our values remain true to the vision of our founders. Our primary value – The needs of the patient come first – guides our plans and decisions as we create the future of health care. Join us and you'll find a culture of teamwork, professionalism and mutual respect, and most importantly, a life-changing career.
Mayo Clinic was founded in Rochester, Minnesota by brothers Dr. William James Mayo and Dr. Charles Horace Mayo. More than 100 years later, their vision continues to evolve around a single guiding value: "The needs of the patient come first." Today we are the largest integrated, not for-profit medical group practice in the world.
We are recognized for high-quality patient care more than any other academic medical center in the nation. These endorsements are very gratifying, but also humbling. They remind us of the tradition that has been entrusted to each one of us, and the legacy of excellence that we uphold every day.
