Join Our Team as a Nurse Practitioner in rural Maine!

Description:
Are you passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages? We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team and make a lasting impact in the community. In this role, you will provide direct primary care services under the indirect supervision of a physician, assessing and managing patients in clinic settings, including school health clinics when needed. You will work with an experienced and supportive team while following established standards and evidence-based practices.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform comprehensive physical exams, gather detailed medical histories, and record findings.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions, collaborating with physicians as needed.
• Provide continuity of care and maintain accurate and organized patient records.
• Extend compassionate, culturally sensitive care to all patients.
• Administer medications, injections, sutures, and preventive immunizations while promoting disease prevention.
• Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, and preventive health strategies.
• Recommend community resources to support patient and family needs.
• Triage patients when on call and provide consultation as required.
• Ensure accurate documentation for efficient billing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in provider and staff meetings, program planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in ongoing Quality Assurance activities, including chart audits, peer reviews, and continuing education.
• Stay current with certifications, including CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSN required; MSN preferred, with successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, and regulations.
• Proficiency with medical equipment and instruments used for patient care.
• Understanding of safety hazards and ability to maintain a safe work environment.
• Strong clinical skills in assessing conditions, interpreting findings, and applying evidence-based practices.
• Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
• Calm, effective response in emergency situations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
• Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
