Our Kosair for Kids Children’s Peace Center is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of youth inpatient behavioral health services in the country treating children and adolescents with behavioral health and co-occurring disorders. We have a partial hospitalization program for school-aged children and an inpatient specialty program for children and adolescents who have complex treatment needs, such as intellectual or developmental disabilities accompanied by acute behavioral and psychiatric symptoms. and Purpose
The nursing manager is responsible and accountable for the operations of assigned unit(s) and/ or department(s) a 24-hour basis including fiscal management, staff development, and resource management with the ultimate goal of achieving the highest quality safe patient care.
Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients and conditions served
• Supervises assigned professional, technical and clerical staff of the department/unit to ensure the quality of work
• Develops staffing patterns and ensures availability of sufficient staff to meet patients care needed
• Works to develop and retain highly skilled and well-rounded staff including hiring, orientating, training, directing work, evaluating performance and assuring clinical competency.
• Contributes to the financial viability of the organization including managing productivity and budgeting process
• Contributes to the effective management of the department including supplies, equipment, space, and technology
• Responsible for accurate and timely delivery of various reports including staff schedules, payroll, labor productivity, audits, incident reports and others as assigned

Other Functions:
• Assists the organization in maintaining and achieving its goals related to licensure, regulatory, and accreditation standards
• Maintains effective working relationships, communication and collaborative decision making with medical staff, other departments, leaders, staff and others
• Implements and supports quality improvement activities for the department/unit
• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
• Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description:

Job Requirements
(Education, Experience, Licensure and Certification)
Education:
• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (required)
• Masters of Science Nursing Specialty or Nursing Administration. Other Master’s degrees, such as business or healthcare administration will be considered (preferred)
Experience:
• Minimum experience, years and type
o For Internal candidates: At least four (4) years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center (required)
o For External candidates: At least five (5) years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center (required)
o For Peace Hospital (all candidates): At least three (3) years of experience in an acute care setting (required)
o For Frazier Rehab(all candidates): Four (4) years of experience in rehab and two (2) years with pediatric patients (required)
• Prior management experience, preferred
Licensure:
• Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)
Certification:
• Professional certification in either a leadership or clinical specialty area(required)
• If certification not present upon hire, it is to be obtained within three (3) years of hire date (required)
