Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) to lead a high‑acuity Cardiac ICU / Critical Care team delivering exceptional, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing leadership for a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) caring for complex cardiac and cardiovascular patients
Oversee daily ICU unit operations, staffing, patient flow, and resource utilization
Lead and support a highly skilled critical care nursing team
Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical excellence initiatives
Collaborate with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, intensivists, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams
Promote staff engagement, professional development, and nurse retention
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) - strongly preferred
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license – Connecticut
Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership or nurse management experience in a Cardiac ICU, CICU, CVICU, or critical care environment
Preferred Experience
Advanced cardiac or cardiovascular ICU experience
Leadership experience in high‑acuity critical care settings
Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and quality initiatives
