To facilitate the day-to-day operations, lead, develop and represent the department in the service line initiatives. The registered professional is also accountable for the management of patient care during a designated time frame. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members.

What the Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Surgery Center and Endoscopy will need:

Education

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Licensure

  • Current Michigan license

Training and Experience

  • Successful completion of nursing orientation
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years' Operating Room experience
  • Successful completion of Foundations in Leadership

What the Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Surgery Center and Endoscopy will do:

  • Incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of St. Mary Mercy Hospital in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions
  • Assumes the daily staff responsibilities required by the department (as documented on the RN job description for the department)
  • Assists in the development, institution and maintenance of departmental budgets and staff productivity
  • Works with the Director of Perioperative Services to develop and support service line and strategic plan initiatives for the department.
  • Actively participates with the Perioperative leadership team to identify and prioritize key initiatives and special projects for Operating Room
  • Develops and institutes the monthly staffing schedules for the Operating Room; identifies needs and resources to work within productivity budget.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of Policies and Procedures specific to the department.
  • Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, surgeons and anesthesia providers to maintain excellent patient care within Perioperative Services.
  • Develops and coaches' staff, incorporating AORN standards.
