An Immunisation Nurse co-ordinate’s all aspects of a vaccination clinic on-site for a pre-allocated TELUS Health client. The Immunisation Nurse is responsible for ensuring the program is delivered to the standard of the company and meets all the needs of the relevant client/s. The Immunisation Nurse must be proficient in the delivery of vaccination clinics, with sound knowledge of vaccination procedures, processes and policies. The Immunisation Nurse must be competent in the administration of vaccinations, as well as the ability to provide first aid in the event of an adverse reaction. The Immunisation Nurse must deliver all clinics following correct protocol and must complete all coinciding paperwork/data collection to a satisfactory manner.

Multiple roles available across QLD, VIC, WA and ACT

Responsibilities

  • To effectively provide vaccinations to healthy populations whilst complying with all relevant legislation, policies and regulations
  • To attend mandatory training, review and have thorough understanding of all processes and policy documents provided to you, and participate in internal clinical or file audits where required
  • To provide timely and efficient clinics for our corporate clients
  • To provide exemplary customer service to customers, representing TELUS Health professionally
  • To effectively screen and determine suitability of patients for participation within the clinics based on their history and medical profile
  • To ensure informed consent is obtained from patients compliant with state/territory legislation
  • To ensure accurate attendance record keeping, including utilising a tablet effectively to ensure accurate vaccination records on MyGov and best patient experience
  • To liaise with office staff in an effective manner to organise your equipment and replenishment of consumable stock
  • To complete all paperwork in full and return it as required under the management of the program. This includes keeping any paperwork in an orderly fashion and returning to the office within 24 hours of completed sessions.
  • To provide emergency first aid where required in the event of a reaction to the vaccine & complete relevant incident records
  • To comply with cold-chain management requirements for the storage and transport of vaccine stock
  • The ability to deliver vaccination clinics to a range of clientele in your work region
  • To maintain patient privacy throughout the service and securely transfer any sensitive data collected

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Current registered nurse status (AHPRA)
  • Current Immunisation Certificate valid for the state and/or territory in which you wish to work
  • Current CPR or Basic Life Support
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Current Police Check (will be completed by TELUS Health)
