Job Description

Role title: Nurse Educator (Grade 2) - Emergency Nursing

Role type: Max term contract full time (until February 2027)

Department and location: Nurse Education Development Centre, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

Salary: $135,826.04 - $138,534.10. + super

About the role

  • Responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery the Transition to Speciality Practice (TTSP) program in collaboration with the Nurse Manager of Emergency and Nurse Manager of Education.

  • Support nurses transitioning into emergency practice through structured education, mentoring and clinical support.

  • Coordinate education and capability development for ECAT implementation among new nursing staff.

  • Work collaboratively with nursing leadership to strengthen clinical capability across the emergency nursing workforce.

  • Evaluate education programs to ensure they support workforce development and safe patient care.

  • Contribute to the development of a future Graduate Certificate pathway for emergency nurses.

About you

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency.

  • Holds relevant post-graduate education qualifications or relevant post- graduate clinical qualifications in emergency nursing with a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or significant progression toward).

  • Extensive experience in the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of educational programs within clinical settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, using advanced communication and interpersonal skills to support effective learning and patient care.

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a nurse educator

  • Demonstrated advanced leadership in integrating quality improvement, clinical research, and evidence‑based practice into emergency nursing education.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
